Jon Buscemi (born October 3, 1975) is an American fashion designer known for his work at Oliver Peoples (sunglasses), co-founder of Gourmet footwear, and his eponymous brand Buscemi. He is the cousin of famous actor Steve Buscemi. Buscemi was hired by the skateboard shoe brand DC Shoe Co. USA to work on special projects. After DC, he moved to Lotto USA as Creative Director. "There are brands that are very expensive, and the quality is simply not there," he says. "When I think of luxury brands, I think of brands like Asprey, I think of brands like Hermès." The nod to the French fashion house Hermès is particularly appropriate. Buscemi's first product on the market was its 100 mm high sneaker, which feeds design elements from Hermès's Birkin bag, one of the most coveted items in today's fashion landscape.
